
Swedish Medical Programmes
Status of the project: Ongoing
In 1995, IOM, in partnership with the Swedish Migration Board,
initiated the Swedish Medical Programme (SMP) to provide medical care
for war-injured and other patients for whom proper treatment was not
available in BiH. The first patients were the victims of the attack on
the market place in Sarajevo in September 1995.

Migrant Health Assessment in Bosnia
and Herzegovina
Status of the project: Ongoing
In May 2002 IOM Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina established a
Migration Health Assessments Programme for nationals who are leaving the
country under the family reunification program to various countries and
refugees and migrants departing from Bosnia and Herzegovina under
resettlement programs. The program established in Sarajevo is for
following countries: USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, in Banja
Luka and Mostar for Canada and Australia (only visitors).

HIV/AIDS National Capacity Building
and Awareness Raising Activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Status of the project: Closed
IOM is implementing activities aimed at decreasing
the vulnerability of mobile populations in BiH to HIV/AIDS, in order to
support the BiH National Strategy for HIV/AIDS.
