Important notice for Bosnia Herzegovina nationals
In July 2009 the Canadian Embassy in Sarajevo
has ceased its operations. As of July 10, clients are
required to deal directly with the Embassy of Canada in Vienna for all
visa and immigration matters.
On this web site you can find forms,
instructions, as well as the list of fees to apply. As indicated on the
fee schedule, fees can be paid in BiH.
Clients from Bosnia and Herzegovina
have the following possibilities for
sending their application to the Embassy in Vienna:
- you can apply in person at our office.
Same day service is provided for in-person applicants. You can
also ask a third party to drop-off your application in Vienna.
Please note there can be a 10 day
compulsory waiting period for the processing of an application;
- you can drop off your completed
application or other documents IN A SEALED ENVELOPE at the IOM
office in Sarajevo at
International Organization for Migration (IOM)
Branilaca Sarajeva 5
71000 Sarajevo
Tel.: 033 567 200
which will forward it to Vienna for a small fee. IOM will contact
you when your documents are ready
to be picked up;
- you can mail your application;
- you can send your application by private
courier. In this case, you must make arrangements for a pre-paid
airway bill indicating your name and your customer number. Please
note that the embassy does not cover courier services for clients.
If you do not make such an arrangement, the Embassy will send your
documents to IOM Sarajevo.
How will passports and other
documents be returned to BiH?
To ensure the safe delivery of documents to our
BiH clients, all sealed envelopes will be sent from Vienna
to IOM Sarajevo who will contact clients to pick up envelopes (with the
exception of those who have pre-
paid a private courier). A third party can pick up the envelope at the
IOM office as long as you advise
IOM. The identity of this person will be verified and a signature
required.
