Information Referral Services for Returnees from Switzerland

The program focuses on measures to assist the reintegration of returnees, whose asylum application in Switzerland has been rejected, once they return to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The program consists of three components: information and referral services, specific support for humanitarian cases and follow-up of the returnees’ reinsertion in the receiving communities by special request of the donor.

During the reporting period:

Four persons (one family) returned to BiH, and contacted the IRS office, asking for information about international high schools in BiH and possibilities and conditions for continuation of education.

To date, nine persons have returned from Switzerland (one single person and two families) and have contacted the IRS Office. IOM provided the beneficiaries with information and referral services about possibilities of education, health and pension insurance, ongoing housing reconstruction projects in BiH and Employment Assistance Service project, which is implemented by IOM Sarajevo and SDC. The IRS program has been extended to the end of June 2006.
